One person was tragically killed in Kyiv during the early morning hours of Thursday after Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying over the region, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The body of a man was discovered by responders while extinguishing a fire at an apartment building in Kyiv’s Podil district.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that air defense systems effectively intercepted Russian airstrikes that were launched in the early hours of Thursday morning. Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv city military administration, urged residents to seek shelter and remain indoors until the air raid subsided, emphasizing that air defenses were actively operating in the region.
Mayor Klitschko also revealed that there were reports of damage in various parts of the capital, indicating the extent of the airstrikes’ impact. Additionally, two individuals from the Darnytsia district sustained injuries and have been hospitalized for treatment.
These recent attacks mark the third consecutive night of Russian airstrikes on the Kyiv region, further intensifying the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
