Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar stated that Ukrainian forces effectively held back the Russian offensive in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, which are key areas along the front lines where the Russians have persistently tried to breach Ukrainian defenses.
In the Bakhmut sector, Maliar reported that an offensive was conducted on the southern flank around Bakhmut, resulting in advances by Ukrainian forces. She further mentioned that the defenders are now consolidating their positions on the occupied lines. Ukrainian forces have been focusing on securing higher ground on the northern and southern edges of the city.
